NEW STAGE THEATRE ANNOUNCES 

SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS FOR CHILDREN/TEEN SUMMER DAY CAMP

 

New Stage will hold Scholarship Auditions for the Broadway Jr. Summer Camp
Intensive this Saturday, April 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.  Please contact New Stage

Recipients will be determined through an audition and application process
and will be given based on financial need and talent.  Scholarship
applicants should prepare a one to two-minute monologue and 32 measures of a
song for the audition.  Applicants must also provide a recommendation letter
and a short paragraph explaining the reason for their application.
Recommendation letters should be from an adult, such as a coach, teacher,
pastor or past show director who has supervised the applicant.

 

The 2008 Broadway Jr. Summer Camp Intensive for rising 5th to 12th grades,
June 16 - July 13, will include four weeks of theatre instruction and
rehearsals taught by theatre professionals.  Students will be introduced to
all the elements of theatre production in daily classes.  The culmination of
the camp will be a fully mounted production of Willie Wonka, Jr. on the
theatre's main stage.  The camp is open to those entering grades 5 through
12 in the fall of 2008.
